| May's monthly blogger was a very hard decision for Mrs Parker and Mrs Raj. So much so, that we decided two people could share the crown. Both Hannah & Ilalio shared their learning consistently throughout the month, including additions from their own learning and exploration. Be sure to watch Ilalio's video from last terms survival inquiry topic, it shows great acting, and editing of the action timed to music. Hannah's recount from our Rocky Shore trip and reflections of her learning are insightful and honest. Remember a reflective learner is a responsible learner, on the path to success. You can find our other Room 10 blogs here Congratulations Hannah & Ilalio! Keep Blogging everyone! Mrs Parker & Mrs Raj. |
This is where we share our learning and our creative pieces of work. Read, enjoy and please leave a comment.

My Loopy Person - Measurement
In the Morning we had Maths and in Maths we had our Loopy People to finish. We then started to finish them off.
We first had to measure our self with a measuring tape then put the amount in our Maths Book. Then divide it by two, then put the answer in our Maths Book.
The hard part of making the Loopy People was gluing the body parts together, it was more like a sticky situation, but I managed to get through it.
The easy part was measuring it, and dividing it, and cutting it too, but I did manage to finish it on time and it was AWESOME making it because it was easy and fast.

Monday Memories.
Week 5 of term one and we are hard at work with Asttle and Star testing. What insightful writing we are producing.
Last week was so busy that Mrs Parker forgot to send out the Friday Flash.
We had several students take home Happy Notes, and go in the Friday draw for 'caught being good'.
Our certificate recipients at Friday assembly were Danielle, Gemima, Ilalio, Edwina and Eseki. Well done to you all, and keep up the hard work, wonderful writing, determination and polite, kind behaviour. It is a pleasure to have you as part of our Room 10 learning whanau.
We had a record amount of wonder hoop entries this week too: with Baden, Atelaite, Moli, Chanel, Edwina and Joseph taking home prizes. To those of you who missed out, better luck this week.
Other class highlights included the Basketball training with Coach Steph (see the class and individual blog posts for more details), and our Year 8 trip to Tamaki College.
In the week ahead, we have Life Education van visiting Glenbrae and we are enjoying our class novel The Hatchet by Gary Paulsen.

Friday Flash - Week three in Glenbrae's Room 10
It's been an absolute heatwave this week, with our temperature chart reaching highs of 27 and overnight lows ranging from 14 to 20 degrees. Thank goodness for our midday swims to help us keep cool!
We have been learning a lot about responsibilities and being good role model this week. We had two peer mediator sessions, learning about how help our classmates and younger school members to resolve tensions and play fairly.
We also did some amazing explanation writing on How to be a Socially Responsible Person. Please check our individual blogs to read what we learnt about and shared.
We started some pencil sketching this week. Our focus was enlarging an image, and using shading. We were each given a small piece of a puzzle. We had to enlarge this onto a bigger piece of green paper. So far it is looking good, we will finish these pieces off next week.
This week our wonder hoop winners were Baden, Nganga, Anthony, Hannah & Ilalio. WELL DONE! And congratulations to everyone else who was in the running. We also talked about the probability of our name being drawn depending on how many entries we had.
